To start 2013 with a bang, DOG WORLD is launching what we hope will become one of the biggest online databases devoted to pedigree dogs.
The Dog World DataBase will be available for anyone to view anywhere in the world, free of charge, and for a small fee will allow owners and breeders to upload their dogs' profiles for all to see.
Users will be able to upload their dogs for as little as £25. For this you can display up to three images of that dog plus a three-generation pedigree, show results, titles, health tests and contact details. These can be updated as frequently as you wish.
Enhanced and premium options will also be available, giving your dog extra prominence and allowing you to include further images.
To be among the first to add your dog to the Dog World DataBase visit www.dogworld.co.uk and click on Dog World DataBase.
Dog World Managing Director Stuart Baillie says: "Our website is being used more and more by those in dogdom to see the latest news, show reports and breed notes. The only thing missing for exhibitors and breeders is a dog database. So now anyone can come to our site, see the latest news, read their breed notes, take a look our latest programme, and start planning a breeding programme with all the information available to all. With all the traffic on our website already, it makes sense to have a catalogue of show dogs there too.”
For users who would like to keep their personal details hidden but simply leave a basic contact there is a tick box to hide your details but leave your dog's profile in view of the public.
We hope this will eventually build to became an invaluable archive of the pedigrees, photographs and other significant details of the most important dogs in every breed, not just in the UK but worldwide too.
And if winning best of breed at Crufts wasn't prestigious enough, this year every BOB winner will receive a free listing on the DataBase. Each BOB winner will be highlighted for all to see with a appropriate rosette on their profile and on the breed index.
