THE CLOGHRAN all-breed championship show was held at the National Show Centre at Cloghran in Dublin on the first Saturday in November.

Organised by the Irish Kennel Club judge’s committee, the show gives the opportunity for progression of Irish judges as well as raising much needed funds for the maintenance and upkeep of the facilities at the NSC.

Sponsored by Dr Clauder’s with Stewart Carson representing the company in the photographs, the show attracted an entry of 1,196 dogs for the totally home-based judging panel which, given the committee’s brief, saw many starting on their judging career while others were progressing through their chosen group or into new groups.

Given the adverse weather conditions leading up to the show, not to mention on the day, show secretary Dermot Alford, also making his debut on the day, was relieved that the whole show, with the exception of one outside ring, was able to be accommodated indoors, the bonus of ‘not before’ times issued with ring numbers alleviating the usual crowded start to the day.
