CH ZENTARR Elizabeth, the Lhasa Apso who won best in show at Crufts 2012, has died at the age of 12.

Bred and owned by Margaret Anderson, she was by Ch Fengola Simply Wkd ex Ch Zentarr Madonna.

Before her great day at Crufts she had been consistently successful in the show ring, starting by qualifying for Pup of the Year 2005.

Her title came in 2007 and altogether she won 24 CCs. She won seven groups, including BIS at British Utility Breeds 2009, and went on to RBIS at Manchester and Three Counties 2011. Later that year she topped the field at the Eukanuba Champion Stakes Final. She had been group 2 at Crufts ’11 before going all the way at the ’12 show under Roger Bayliss (breed), Geoff Corish (group) and Frank Kane (BIS).

She then retired from the ring and subsequently produced her only litter – of one puppy. Fortunately he was a good one and became Ch Zentarr George.

“I will miss her forever,” Mrs Anderson said this week. “I am so lucky to have had her in my life, she was so wonderful, precious and amazing.”
