Woman pleads guilty after dog kills toddler
A WOMAN has pleaded guilty to owning a dangerously out of control dog who killed a three-year-old boy.
Dexter Neal died after he was mauled by a dog said to be an American Bulldog while playing with a friend in Halstead, Essex, in August.
Jade Dunne, 29, formerly of Parker Way but now of Colchester, appeared before the town’s magistrates on Tuesday when she admitted a single charge of owning a dog who was dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death. She was released on bail ahead of sentencing at Chelmsford Crown Court on May 16.
Dexter, who lived in Ronald Road, Halstead, was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge after he was bitten at Dunne’s home.
