As a Specialist you will provide support to all aspects of the Education and Training team within the Canine Activities department. The Education and Training team is responsible for facilitating the processes that support accredited trainers who deliver a wide range of seminars for The Kennel Club. It is also responsible for identifying training needs and developing seminars relating to Canine Activities under the direction of the Manager.

Your role will be to co-ordinate administration activities for Education and Training with particular emphasis on event management, database management and maintenance of the system for all Education and Training business. You will undertake the administration for training seminars, including updating and developing training materials and maintaining effective administration processes for Trainers and Presenters. You will compile the bi-annual newsletter, prepare copy for the website and Kennel Gazette, as well as monitor the effectiveness of the training and gain customer feedback. You will also provide secretarial support to the Training Board, the KCAI Scheme Board and Working Parties. In addition you will provide guidance to clubs and societies on organising seminars.

The ideal candidate will have proven administration experience, preferably in training and events. You will also have proven database experience. The ability to analyse and evaluate is a must, as is excellent organisation skills. You will be confident and comfortable putting forward ideas, maintaining data and systems, and working on your own initiative as well as assisting the team as required. You must be willing to attend events outside the office as required. Knowledge of the canine world is desirable as you will be dealing with a range of people from the canine world on a daily basis. It is essential therefore that you are also an effective and confident communicator.
