TWO SHAR-Pei – one due to whelp eight puppies – have been stolen during a burglary. Police suspect that thieves targeted the house to get the dogs.
The in-whelp bitch is fawn with a pink tongue, and the other bitch is black with bald patches under her front legs.
Owner David Saunders said he returned to his home in Altrincham, Greater Manchester, to find it ransacked and the dogs gone.
"I just want my dogs back – I don’t care about anything else,” he said. "They will be fretting and not eating.
"I can’t believe that someone could do this.”
Detective Constable Mark Atkinson of Greater Manchester Police said:  "I would also ask anyone who hears barking at a neighbouring property, which you know does not normally have dogs, to check and see whether Kiara and Saffina are being held there.
"Because Kiara is pregnant these offenders want to get her checked over, so if such a dog is brought in, scan her microchip and call us straight away,” he said.
Kiara’s chip number is 981000002883431. Anyone with information about the theft of Kiara and Saffina should  call police on 101 ornyone with information about the raid, on Friday, should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
