Only dual champion Gordon dies
CH/FT CH Amscot Irresista Belle, Britan’s only dual champion Gordon Setter, has died at the age of 15 years.
Bred and owned by Jean Collins, she was by Ch Boyers Shah at Yennadon the first male of the breed in 46 years to achieve a full champion title via a field trial award, ex dual CC-winner Amscot La Belle.
She gained her field trial title, owner-handled, at the Gordon Setter Field Trial Society breed open stake in July 2003, by which time she had won four CCs. This made her only the second dual champion of the pointer/setter breeds since the second world war.
She was not only a dog of a lifetime but my friend as well,” said Mrs Collins this week. “I will never forget what she did for me and our breed.”
