LISTED HERE are the provisional annual leaders in the Dog World/Pedigree Top Dog competition 2008.
If there are any queries, please contact DOG WORLD as soon as possible so that the final list, published in the Best of British Dogs supplement in Crufts week, is absolutely accurate.
The group leaders and top ten are featured in more detail in the news pages this week.
The points system works as follows: your dog gains two points for a CC plus one for best of breed where CCs are on offer. A group win at a championship show scores five points (as does best in show at a single group or Scottish Breeds championship show); group 2 three, group 3 two and group 4 one point.
Best in show at an all-breeds championship show scores an extra five points, reserve three. One extra point goes to BIS at a working/pastoral breeds championship show.
BIS at Boston championship show gains five points, RBIS three and one point for the two remaining finalists.
Rare breeds score two for best of sex plus one for BOB at championship shows where they have breed classes; imported register breeds score similarly in championship show classes open to all IR breeds in that group.
Pedigree provide prizes for the eventual annual leaders who also have the chance to advertise in Best of British Dogs.
