I have my daughter to take over if anything were to happen. And if we were to both have an accident & both perish, then my daughters best friend wants to care for all my dogs, & so we leave everything to her in return for the care of our dogs.

Mine will go to kennels, which I believe is covered by my pet insurance. If I die, I have written in my will that nobody should feel obliged to take them. If a good permanent home cannot be found in 2 weeks, they should be put down, cremated, and stuck in the urn with me. If I don't die, but can't look after them any more, same thing applies. A good home in 2 weeks or the needle. Harsh, but fair I think.

You cannot legally leave money to a pet in your will neither can you leave instructions for it to be euthanised, what you should do is nominate a new owner and under legal supervison leave money to that new owner to cover the care of the pets you have. Obviously you will need to trust that new nominated owner and should talk with them beforehand because legally they can take the money and said animal and use the money for their own needs and give the pets away , nothing stops this happening, As such we have made a contract with the owner nominees we have with money to be used for the dogs and maintain the funds we support, it is to be overseen by my lawyers.who we have on a retainer for such purposes. For those needing special care (2 at the moment)I have made specific instruction for them to be placed in rescue homes that I have vetted and money is set aside for their care, when they die they are to be cremated and their ashes placed in my grave.
