Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers
PD (1) 1 Hobson’s Abiqua Wild Knight Romance, another quality youngster as you would expect from this kennel, excellent for size, good colour to coat, great head with flat skull, strong muzzle, good bite, dark eyes, small neat ears, good shape & substance to body, short coupled, strong level topline. JD (3) Good class. 1 Clarke’s Loofahsa Scaramouche, scored in excellent texture to coat of beautiful champagne colour, very good outline, balanced head, small neat ears, good bite, lovely neck leading to well placed shoulders, level topline, very good rear angulation, moved freely, all terrier; 2 Coulbert’s Janeyjimjams Jazzbo, loved him for size, masculine head with good bite, strong level topline, good tailset, lovely angles to rear setting off his driving movement. Just preferred coat texture of 1; 3 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth. PGD (2) 1 Kenneally’s Loofahsa Hakuna Matata, balanced head & skull, soft dark eye, good bite, lovely big black nose, very good shoulder placement & rear angulation, moved positively on this uneven ground, beautiful coat of excellent texture & colour; 2 Lawrence’s Snowmeadow Numinous Niilo, what a handful, when he gets his act together could become a useful dog. Good head, good strong topline over short loin, good rear angulation, moved well. Not the coat quality of 1. LD (2,1a) 1 Cross’ Starcadia Willow Pickwick, old fashioned type of coat carrying good colour, head OK. Muzzle could be stronger which would enhance his balance of head. Super neck & topline, very well set tail, moved & shown well. OD (5,1) 1 Waite’s Weatawaite Golden Willow, pleased to see that I am consistent with my judging as I placed this dog 1st in open the last time I judged the breed, then he had to give way to younger dogs for the CCs but not this time. Took my eye as soon as I saw him, excellent for size, beautiful coloured coat falling in loose waves, good head & bite, super strong muzzle, best of neck & shoulders, level topline, good rear, moved effortlessly, very well presented. CC, believe this was his 3rd, & BOB; 2 Barrett’s Ch Loofashsa Teenage Dirtbag, has won a RCC from me before, so yes I do like him. I noted his beautiful coat, balanced head, good topline, lovely rear angulation. Did not match 1 in movement, sorry to give him another RCC; 3 Munn’s Ch Snowmeadow Jazzy Jacob. V (4,2) 1 Withyman’s Chloeanco Stars N Stripes, 9 years young, showing he still can show the youngsters a thing or too, one of the few older dogs who still has a good bite, handsome head, lovely neck, good shoulders, held his topline, good rear, truly balanced dog, moving very well; 2 Munn’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Feebee Friday, good to meet up with this old friend again, though moving a little stiffly now. Good size, pretty feminine head, good coat keeping the colour, shown freely.
PB (7) 1 Satherley’s Tobamorrey Sitting Pretty at Silkcroft, my find of the day winning the class of the day. Love her head, neck & forequarters, good topline, well angulated rear, so feminine, using her ears to give an alert expression, elegant in outline, stunning coat of excellent colour, presented to perfection, trimmed lightly highlighting her shape, allowing the true texture to show. RCC & BP, should have a bright future; 2 Moran’s Abiqua Wild In A Satin Sash, being a little naughty for her handler but still moved like a dream, keeping her lovely outline. Good head, dark eye, good bite, lovely body proportions, colour coming through pretty coat, correct size; 3 Bradford’s Abiqua Wild Lace Effect. JB (5) 1 Thoburn & Northridge’s Emalot Jilly Jitterbug to Northridge, lovely size, beautifully turned out, good topline, short coupled, standing foursquare, super neck & shoulders, good head, dark eye giving pretty expression, good bite, good rear angulation allowing drive to her movement. Top marks to her very smart handler, it just added the polish to the whole picture; 2 Smith’s Janey Jimjams Jasmina, lovely headed bitch, good earset, dark eye, good bite, liked her size & shape, moved very well, through well muscled rear. Both bitches pale in colour as often found at this age but plenty of time on their side; 3 Williams’ Brynhir Rochelle Lil Rock. PGB (12,2) 1 Bristow’s Kellynack Viva La Passione for Avard, beautiful understated bitch, perfect size, lovely head of correct width & length, small neat ears, super neck, deep chest, good shoulders, level topline, good rear & tailset, so feminine, moved & shown very well, didn’t put a foot wrong; 2 Bain’s Merriwell Midnite Melody, slightly larger bitch than 1 but with the same attractive frame, good head shape, arched neck, well placed shoulders, super rear, moving well. Coat could be a shade softer; 3 Usher’s Chloeanco Solar Harmony. LB (3) Three bitches of differing types. 1 Brooks’ Loofahsa Hayzee Fantayzee, her overall balance won it for her, good movement, very good rear angulation, strong topline, lovely feminine head, excellent coat texture with shine of condition, wish colour was clearer; 2 Dowdy’s Denzilly Toot Sweet, liked her body shape, balanced head, good bite. Coat of good colour, texture could be softer. Moved well; 3 Brown’s Chymidas Linel Stardancer at Carkbark. OB (5) 1 & 2 won on movement & size. 1 O’Sullivan & Harding’s Wintrypark Miss Moneypenny for Chekhina, beautifully presented true terrier of correct size, classic head shape, small ears, dark eye, good bite, arched neck leading to well placed shoulders, strong topline, good length of back, very good rear, pretty coat of excellent texture, clear wheaten colour. Just back from maternal duties & looking good. Moved as one with her handler, very well handled to get the best from her. CC, her second, hope the third is on its way; 2 Moran’s Abiqua Wild Rose For A Rose, super elegant outline, lovely neck & shoulders, strong topline, good shaped rear, good head, eye & ear, pretty coat of correct texture & colour; 3 Usher’s Chloeanco Sunswept Thyme. Breeders 1 Brooks’ Loofahsa, no surprise in winning this class as I had placed most of the dogs of this kennel highly, breeder to be commended on the uniformity of size, excellent coat texture & movement; 2 Munn’s Snowmeadow, well known kennel, just pipped by the compact, lovely coated terriers of 1.
