Soft-coated Wheaten Terriers

VD (7,2a) 1 Patterson’s Ch/Ir Ch Amberstar Paperback Writer, a dog I have placed well before, I still like his head for balance & expression, he has well placed shoulders & carries a firm body with well angulated quarters, shows so confidently & moves with purpose; 2 Witheyman’s Chloeanco Stars N Stripes, this dog has an attractive head & well set ears, very good in front construction with a level topline & correct tailset with lovely bone; 3 Whitehead’s Finchwood Special Style, another oldie of great type in good coat & condition, his head is still clean & balanced. PD (3) 1 Coulbert’s Janey Jimjams Jazzbo, promising youngster of good type, well balanced head giving a good expression, nice earset, true in front standing & moving, shows well & keeps his outline. Perhaps a bit too woolly in coat at the moment; 2 Clarke’s Loofahsa Scaramouche, less mature than 1 but this pup had a good head & very good front. He has a level topline with a good rib & well set tail. Preferred 1’s eye colour; 3 Whitehead’s Shanghai Shoggoth, deeper coloured pup who is quite well constructed but at the moment needs more training to show himself to advantage. Perhaps will show himself off better at the outdoor shows. JD (4) 1 Noble’s Pippajam One And Only, well constructed youngster of pleasing type, balanced head giving a good expression, true front of correct width but has a smaller frame all through, liked his coat & colour; 2 Mason’s Emalot Tommy Tango, bigger framed youngster who has a balanced head, correct mouth, straight front, good rib & level topline. Perhaps not as steady enough on the move but has time; 3 Cooper’s Merriwell Midnite Magic, this young dog I found to be similar to 2 in many respects but his coat did not have the texture of those above. He did impress with his free movement & typical construction. YD (5,1) 1 Bott’s Whitevale Prince Of Thieves, I was quite taken with this dog as he is of good type & very free moving. I liked his head & eye, good ear placement, so true in front, deep in rib & a well set tail on good quarters. His outline is pleasing on the move, I considered him for higher honours but felt his coat although of good colour, needed more time to come to its best; 2 Thomsen’s Hopla Big Foot Bobo, very stylish dog with a good outline at all times, head of good length & has nice ears, lovely front & topline. True on the move but preferred substance of 1; 3 Lawrence’s Snowmeadow Numinous Niilo, very enthusiastic dog on the move who had a balanced head with lovely bone & substance. He can give a lovely outline when stacked. PGD (10) 1 W Prince Of Thieves; 2 Glew’s Wentloog Mozambique, an Irish type of dog who impressed with his soundness & first class construction, has a balanced head & good eye & neat ears, well placed shoulders, good rib & kept his topline on the move, impressed me on the move; 3 Connaughton’s Bacanti Beach Bunny, liked this dog for his type & construction, good width all through & presents a typical outline. On the final run did not do himself justice. LD (11,1) 1 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Kaos, liked the size & shape of this dog, lovely outline, balanced head & well placed shoulders, good rib, moved soundly in front & has a correct tailset. Carrying enough body, attractive colour; 2 Cross’ Starcadia Willow Pickwick, very well constructed, lovely head & dark eye, true front with deep ribs, clear colour & attractive outline. Not quite the movement of 1; 3 Goater’s Swandare Blue Splendour with Goldenhaze, another attractive dog with a lovely head & well set ear, in nice coat & condition but a trifle longer than those above. OD (14,2) 1 Johnson’s Ch Fantasa Blonde Fagin, another dog I have judged before, medium sized & very well balanced, in great coat & condition, his coat was hanging as it should with slight waves, well balanced head of good shape, perfect mouth, well placed shoulders & deep rib, correct tailset & covers plenty of ground on the move. CC; 2 Waite’s Weatawaite Golden Willow, I found this dog to be so alike the winner & consequently the RCC winner in good competition. He is of the size I like, balanced & square, true in front & lovely topline & tailset, enough width, free easy mover, like 1 in good textured coat. RCC; 3 Cox’s Ch Riabee Sagittarian Comet, upstanding dog with a clean head, nice eye & expression, true front, in good condition & nice coat texture. GCD (3) 1 S Willow Pickwick; 2 Canadine’s Goldenhaze Gleaming Garnet; 3 Kenneally’s Loofahsa Hakuna Matata.

VB (7,1) 1 Munn’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Feebee Friday, this oldie has a lovely shape & a first class head & eye, well placed shoulders, true front & a good topline free moving; 2 Brooks’ Ch Frontline She Who Dares with Loofahsa, another oldie with a classic outline standing but decided not to keep it on the move, standing she has a level topline with good colour & textured coat; 3 Webster’s Kazeen Sweet Deceit, another of good type & construction, attractive head & eye, straight front. PB (5) 1 Ewing’s Loofahsa Amareuse, headed a lovely class & several were unfortunate to come up against those above them, this youngster I found very good to handle, in lovely coat & colour, very free moving & showed her character as well as her classy construction, very well balanced throughout. BP; 2 Matti & Omitogun’s Loofahsa Bohemia in Frontline, so similar to 1 but not quite her maturity as yet. Very sound on the move & skilfully handled to get the best from her. Must certainly have a good future; 3 Smith’s Janey Jimjams Jasmina, another good pup, very pleasing to go over but lacks the condition of those above but has time. JB (8) 1 Tilley’s Starzak Solid Gold Ez Action, lovely youngster with beautiful construction. Not the deepest of colours but that aside has little to hide. Good rib & topline & well set tail; 2 Howes’ Daisymaes Arrabella, thought she was so like 1 in construction & type but on the day her coat was straighter & did not have the texture of 1’s but promising; 3 Bain’s Merriwell Midnite Melody, another lovely bitch with a balanced head & good expression, nicely placed shoulders & straight front, good topline & tailset. YB (11,1) This class was headed by two lovely bitches. 1 Thomsen’s Hopla Bumblebee,. I liked the construction of 1 & she impressed me each time she was asked to move with her true free sound movement & ground covering stride. I liked her coat & condition which was presented to give a sharp outline. Attractive head & eye, well placed shoulders & carrying enough body. RCC; 2 Boulton’s Denzilly Topsy Turvy, this bitch pressed 1 hard as I preferred her style of presentation although her coat was perhaps a bit full & did make her look heavier than she actually is. First class head & eye, good width to front & a well ribbed body; 3 Bott’s Whitevale Sunshine Straw, I liked this bitch who was very good to go over, she has a lovely shaped head & true front, good rib & in good form. She did not put all into her showing which prevented her from a higher placing. PGB (15) 1 Dowdy’s Denzillytoot Sweet, this bitch has the most lovely of heads & dark eye, well set ears & a very good front, balanced throughout & short coupled, in great coat & condition, well muscled quarters & sound on the move; 2 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Kimberly, another balanced bitch who again is well constructed. Not quite the coat texture of 1 but has nothing to hide. Pleasing neck & shoulders & a short coupled body; 3 Williamson’s Emalot Magic Dance, an honest bitch to go over who was skilfully handled to get the best from her. She appealed in head & eye. LB (16,3) 1 Dunhill’s Fantasa Blonde Krackers, this bitch headed another good class & she had to be good to win. Lovely head & dark eye, good mouth, well placed shoulders & a good rib, kept her topline on the move & had a lengthy stride. Considered her for the RCC but did not have the verve of the eventual winner; 2 Watkin & Snyder’s Peteneira Peters Promise, nice headed bitch with well placed ears & a correct shoulder, level topline & a well set tail in lovely coat & condition; 3 Escott’s Abiqua Wild Rose N Ribbons, the third of three lovely bitches who was so similar to those above. OB (18,4) 1 Hanna’s Ch Kinaelan Cuchylaene, this bitch headed a lovely class of top quality bitches, in fact those placed pushed her hard. I feel this bitch represents an outstanding Wheaten for type, temperament & condition, I would change very little about her. Having said that the icing on the cake is her sound, easy going free movement, well handled to make the most of her. CC & BOB; 2 Morrey’s Tobymorrey Ain’t I Gorgeous, on first examination I thought this bitch could be the winner, so close up for type & size, in lovely coat & condition. Just did not have the exceptional free movement of 1; 3 Munn’s Ch/Ir Ch Snowmeadow Jellybean Jilly, another top class bitch, so well balanced & kept her outline on the move. GCB (3) 1 A Wild Rose N Ribbons; 2 Kelly’s Weatawaite Bombay Saphire; 3 Oake’s Merriwell Magical Moondance.
