Stoneleigh opens its doors

THE KENNEL Club’s £1.25 million purpose dog centre at Stoneleigh was officially opened last Friday and several breed clubs have already made bookings for their 2009 shows at the new venue.

THE PARISH Church of St Mary at Kempsey, near Worcester, was full to capacity for the memorial service to the British dog world’s best known figure, Terry Thorn, who died on July 16 at the age of 73 after a hard fought battle against cancer, writes Simon Parsons.

David Spencer retires from judging

David Spencer, well known to all DOG WORLD readers as our To The Rescue correspondent for many years, announced his retirement from judging after his Boxer appointment at City of Birmingham where he must have been thrilled to see his BOB, Ch Winuwuk Lust At First Sight, go on to win the group and RBIS.

Senior YKC members join its management team

THE YOUNG Kennel Club has elected two senior members to serve on its management team.
Rebecca Hodge and Laura Nicholas were elected by fellow YKC members for two years and will work with the management team to continue developing the YKC’s structure and policies.
