First Poodle of the Year a great success by Andrew Brace

In the past Poodle people were some of the most social in the sport and ‘Poodle parties’ were renowned. This year, for the first time, a Poodle of the Year competition was hosted by the Miniature Poodle Club, with Jackie Kitchener masterminding and organising the whole event, which was no mean feat.

I spoke recently to a gundog judge who is hoping that shortly she will be approved to award CCs. She’s a lady of great experience, and many express surprise that she hasn’t achieved that status already.

I wonder what price you would put on a Kennel Club share if they were for sale. Just 1,500 on the open market for a business which has multi millions in cash and assets and a complete monopoly over the market. It would have to be the best investment going.

Today is all about waiting. Sian’s pups were due yesterday but there is still no sign of her doing anything, and so the whelping bed is ready and we are on standby, while she continues to eat her food, bounce around and watch the cats – very frustrating.
