It’s funny how stereotypes persist. I suppose they are created in the first place because they may have at least some foundation in fact but more often than not they survive their sell-by date and become embarrassing relics which don’t reflect reality anymore.

When the KC announced the introduction of a single certificate at certain shows for breeds that were perhaps not always getting an entry that was commensurate with CC status, most exhibitors were merely puzzled.

THERE HAS been some interesting feedback on the subject of tails. Certainly confusion arises, and there really are some points we need to ponder.
Ruby Field writes regarding shows where dogs that are legally docked are not permitted to be exhibited.

Unusually small entry at Stamford by Wendy Beasley

WHAT ON EARTH has happened to our summer? As we headed off for the ASPADS Stamford CH PD trial this year we were comparing the weather with previous years when the worry had been the dry crispy grass and the risk of sunstroke.

Many varied matters for Agility Council by Peter Lewis

DURING JUNE our Agility Council met and considered various matters. They were informed that all the camping was fully booked for the Kennel Club International Agility Festival and that a waiting list had been opened. Entries are again increased and possibly 17 to 18 rings will be needed. Phew!

New Stable Dog test introduced

THE SIXTH Fenix Carriage Dog Trials took place at Lincomb Chasers near Stourport recently where Molly (Tyrodal Abbydal Heaven Leigh who is by Tyrodal Kracker Jack ex Tyrodal Lynx At Abbydal), a young liver bitch owned and handled by Wesley Evans-Pigden from North Wales, became Road Dog Champion after winning the Silver Road Dog class.

Summer is no longer summer and winter, no longer winter as the seasons seem to be thoroughly confused nowadays.
I can remember that my grandmother used to take her furs to be cleaned and stored with her furrier up in London when summer arrived and then collected them with the advent of winter.

Outstanding Whippet legacy by Nick Waters

Three of the more unusual pieces in the Kennel Club’s art collection are the carved and painted wooden models of Whippets, each mounted on a stepped wooden base.
Their quality and fineness of detail is of the highest, as is the case with other similar carvings that have been specially commissioned.
