ANN QUINN writes: “Ann and Noel Quinn thank everyone who sent them messages following the death of Kirikee Avonbeg Mischiefmaker (Feohanagh Mutton Jack ex Bronagh of Slievehorn) on June 24. They were greatly appreciated. It is the end of an era as Brogan was the last of their first Glen litter (1995) to leave. Maunby Merrymaker at Salterswall (Glen) owned by Norma and Bob Kerr was first, followed by Kirikee Camarahill Match Maker (Seonna) and now Brogan.
“All these were shown with some success and Brogan’s ‘year’ was ’97 – three DGS awards in Ireland, BIS at the Glen of Imaal Terrier Association open show under Eithne Cleary and BOB at SKC (Aug) under Ian Sladden. His last award was RBD at Blackpool in ’05 and his last appearance in the ring was at All Ireland Bull Breed Association all breeds championship show in October ’06 aged 11.
“Sadly Ann and Noel can only assume that Everley Music Maker of Ceolnamara (Bran) has also joined his littermates as they lost touch with his owners some time ago.
“Ann, committee member and archivist for the Glen of Imaal Terrier Association, recalls that Brogan appears in Eithne Cleary’s Irelands Native Terrier: The Irish Glen of Imaal Terrier Reference Book produced circa ’98. There is also a photo of Noel and Seonna and Ann with Brogan outside the O’Dwyer cottage in the Glen of Imaal. Ann said that she is ashamed to admit that she is still gardening in that T-shirt.”
